Stuffed Dal Puri
Stuffed dal puri is generally made during festivals like Diwali and Holi.It goes well with aloo tamatar rasa and yogurt.
Ingredients:
2 cups Wheat flour
1 cup urad dal
4 Red chillies.
3/4 tsp Cumin seeds .
Water enough to form smooth stiff dough(around 2/5 cup)
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Procedure:
1.Add 1/2 tsp salt to the wheat flour. Make a smooth stiff dough using small amounts of water. 2.Cover dough with a wet cloth keep it aside for 25 minutes.
3.Soak Urad dal for atleast 3 hours and grind to a paste adding very little water.
4.Grind together red chillies, cumin seeds,cloves,cinnamon and keep it aside.
5.Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a fry pan.
6.Add the dal paste and the ground masalas,keep stirring till the dal is fried and the water is absorbed leaving it dry.
7.Keep this mixture aside.
8.Knead and divide the dough into 10 balls.
9.Make a cup with each ball and fill with the prepared dal mixture.
10.Flatten and roll into a ball, 4" in diameter.
11.Deep fry in hot oil untill golden brown.
12.Drain and serve hot with aloo tamatar rasa and yogurt
